Tyto Contracting Ltd is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of construction projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered cost effectively and within budget, whilst upholding our company values.

Based in the Stockton House offices the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for all commercial elements for their allocated construction projects within Tyto Contracting Limited working with the project lead and site team to deliver projects in a collaborative manner and approach

Key Responsibilities

Pre contract

  • Provide support to the estimating department with the preparation of tenders.

Post contract

  • Prepare, manage and regularly review with the construction team a supply chain procurement programme in line with the Construction Programme.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents for all supply chain to the company standard.
  • Analysis tender returns and prepare recommendation for trade appointments.
  • Place order for the supply chain to the company standard.
  • Prepare and issue applications for payment and agree interim valuations.
  • Identify, quantify, value and agree contract variations.
  • Manage supply chain accounts to the company standard.
  • Prepare and manage a Value Cost Reconciliation for monthly project financial reporting, to the company standard.
  • Prepare and manage a Project Forecast to the company standard.
  • Prepare and maintain internal and external project cashflow forecast.
  • Prepare and agree internal and external Final Accounts to the company standard.

Specialties

  • Prepare, manage and regularly review Project Insurance requirements.
  • Prepare, manage and regularly review Project collateral warranty requirements.
  • Regularly contribute data for key performance indicators and project benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with the Director in the development of the business and its strategic planning.
  • Uphold organisational policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed.
  • Be responsible for personal professional development.

What We Are Looking For

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, the ideal candidate will have the ability to run their own project and have the desire to progress their experience to include membership of a professional body.

With attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills, on completion of the probation the Quantity Surveyor will be invited to join the company Work Based Learning and Development Programme to provide support through their own career development.
